What a relief that the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) has been asked to explore the establishment of a new framework agreement for the provision of telecare and telehealth solutions (to the NHS).
As a young, proven supplier of technologically innovative telehealthcare solutions, we’d say this is great news.
We have already gone on record in the media (and in this blog – see our previous entry “Let’s Recognize Innovation . . .) voicing our frustration at the current “closed shop” situation that favours larger, established suppliers, while effectively shutting out the true sources of innovation – the new guys.
ESPO are looking at:
- the requirement of some commissioners for ‘holistic’ solutions
- ensuring cost effective procurement processes, whilst preserving compliance
- offering different supply and pricing options
- allowing new and developing products and services to be available to commissioners in this rapidly evolving technological environment.
This couldn’t come at a better time, and we look forward to attending the Market Engagement Events that are part of this process, to give our input.
