National No Smoking Day took place on the 13th March 2019 and events were held nationally in Solutions 4 Health Smokefree and Smokefreelife services to encourage smokers to quit for good.
Smokefree Liverpool featured on BBC Radio Merseyside, with Regional Health Improvement Manager, Samantha O’Loughlin, taking to the airwaves to discuss the service in more details and the benefits of going smokefree.
The free, e-cig friendly service is available at over 60 venues in Liverpool, over 6 days per week with support available during both evening and weekends. Samantha discussed the ways in which smokers can stop for good using the support of her team of advisors and the various stop smoking medications available.
Samantha’s advice for those either stopping on No Smoking Day or in fact on any day; don’t give up trying! Over half of smokers make a quit attempt each year but with the support of stop smoking services, people are up to 4 times more likely to quit for good!
