Solutions4Health are delighted to be working with Slough Borough Council to provide rapid Lateral Flow Test (or LFT) to those in the Slough community who are not currently displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
As many as one in three people who have coronavirus have no symptoms and may be spreading it without realising. The aim is to mass test people who do not have Covid-19 symptoms to identify those who are positive so they can self-isolate. This will stop them from passing on the virus.
Rapid Covid-19 tests will be available via The Centre in Farnham Road, as well as at Mobile Testing units across the Borough such as at community centre sites and places of worship. Appointments are not required although it is advised to avoid a longer than necessary wait.
Councillor Natasha Pantelic, lead member for health and wellbeing at Slough Borough Council, said: “Bringing this mass community testing to Slough has been a major project but now we are ready to start. Testing can be offered to those without symptoms – identifying the one in three of us who may have Covid but no outward sign so if you don’t have symptoms, but want to know if you have Covid, now you have the chance. A negative test isn’t a ‘get out of jail free card’ unfortunately, but, as with the positive results, the right knowledge is key – meaning people can take the right steps to protect their families and communities.”
