We are pleased to announce our latest service, Public Health Nursing 4 Slough will be coming on board from the 1st October 2017. We have been working in Slough for many years, providing health promotion services on behalf of the council and we already provide a number of other services in the area including CardioWellness4Slough, Eat4Health, FallsFree4Life and Smokefreelife Berkshire.
The new service will:
- provide an integrated 0-19 public health nursing service, and up to 25 years for individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
- continue to provide the services currently being delivered
- implement changes to improve accessibility; including a single point of contact, extended hours and on-line provision.
Leena Sankla, our Director of Public Health and Lifestyle Services, said: “We are delighted that Slough Borough Council has entrusted us to deliver cohesive, integrated and transformational services for children, young people and their families across Slough. We look forward to welcoming the exemplary team of health visitors and school nurses into our supportive, focused and caring culture. The team will be provided with additional support, resources, and innovative ways of working and we are committed to building on the existing strong local foundation and our established partnerships with the voluntary sector, primary and secondary care.”
Cllr Sabia Hussain, cabinet member for Health and Social Care in Slough Borough Council, said: “Giving children and young people the best start in life is one of our priorities. The health visiting and school nursing services are central to achieving this and this new contract will enable us to drive up the quality of the service through improvements to accessibility, including extended hours, online provision and a single point of contact.”
In addition, Cate Duffy, Director of Children, Learning and Skills, said: “Solutions4Health won the tender following a rigorous procurement process. They have been working in Slough for many years and are an experienced provider of health improvement services in our borough and across the UK. The council and Solutions4Health want the current skilled and dedicated workforce who provide frontline services to move across to Solutions4Health and they will be provided with additional support, resources, and innovative ways of working. We are looking forward to working with Solutions4Health as they transform the service to meet the needs of families in Slough.”
