Smokefreelife Berkshire are the sole provider of stop-smoking services in Berkshire. Our service is commissioned by Bracknell Forest Council, Reading Borough Council, Slough Borough Council, West Berkshire Council, The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham Borough Council to deliver 5000 quits a year, working in collaboration with local partners. Our partners include the Royal Berkshire Fire Service, GP surgeries, Pharmacies, Acute Trusts, the Midwifery Service and the Mental Health Service.
In addition to helping the general public quit smoking, the service also targets support towards hard-to-reach groups including:
- Routine and Manual Workers
- BME groups
- Pregnant smokers & their partners
- Low income groups
- Clients with mental health illness
We offer a free 12 week quit programme which includes nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to help people to successfully quit. All of our stop-smoking advisors are NCSCT accredited and support is available in a range of different languages.
We have 200 clinics across the county, within various community settings including GP surgeries, pharmacies, local markets, fitness centres, supermarkets, libraries, schools, prisons and mobile clinics. Online support is also available via smokefreelife.co.uk, our behavioural change telehealth application for smoking cessation.
